Poem

The Shadow

I love running through the fields covered by sunlight,
With the greenest grass and the day so bright –
But will my clouds bring the April rain this way?

I love laying on beaches by the sea as if it’s all going right,
Basking in the warmth of a June sun light  –
But will I run to the shade when the sun starts to prey?

Right now it’s still warm, and the winds of doubt are quiet,
My spirit is positive and there’s no real desire to fight it –
But by tomorrow’s February, will this optimism stay?
Or will it be that after yet another winter, the sun will start to stay away?
